Various Shot Examples

Type of shot: Low Shot
Purpose: To show the subject tying their shoes as if they are preparing to go somewhere. I think I did a good job on creating a scene that focused on an object as a subject instead of a person like my other four shots. As this was a really simple scene it only took one take

Type of shot: Over the shoulder into a POV
Purpose: To demonstrate the perspective of the subject when receiving devastating news. The reason for starting off in an over the shoulder shot as opposed to doing the whole shot in POV is to show the subject take out his phone, unprepared for the life changing news that is about to befall him. Because this wifi connection was poor, making it difficult to get the texts through, this scene took far more takes than it should've.

Type of shot: Wide shot into a Mid shot
Purpose: The purpose of this shot is to show the subject's entire body to display hot it appears as though he is waiting on someone or something, to then transition into a mid shot when he is done waiting and begins to change locations. This shot was rather easy to do because it had minimal action as it was simply just waiting and then walking away as the camera follows.

Type of shot: Low angle
Purpose: The purpose of this shot is to observe the subject going down the stairs. because it is a low shot, the subject seems more domineering than they usually would, as if they are walking with the intent to make a move. This shot was surprisingly difficult as it was difficult to not look awkward when descending the stairs. Because of this awkwardness, the feeling of power the subject was suppose to have would be lost.

Type of shot: Point of View
Purpose: The purpose of this shot was to show the point of view of someone walking up the stairs, only to be met with the feet of someone else. Upon looking up, it would appear as though this person at the top of the staircase was waiting for our subject to arrive, having something important to say to him. This shot was unnecessarily difficult as well just for the simple fact that it was hard to keep a straight face when the camera panned upwards from the feet. It was also difficult to determine at which point should the subject look upwards towards the other person without making it unnatural.
